our roots

we began with

A Simple Observation. Many young adults are struggling because they haven’t developed the skills they need to thrive in today’s complex world. For some of our clients, social interactions prove to be a hurdle. Engaging in groups or making friends is a challenging task. For others, time management is a difficult concept.

A Gap in Services. In Austin, TX, and various cities across the nation, communities have access to counseling and tutoring services. However, we struggled to find professionals that focused on developing skills necessary for both academics as well as social and emotional health. While everyone has strengths in these areas, many struggle to integrate all of the skills necessary to thrive. That's where Whole Mind comes in.

A Creative Solution. We aim to provide integrated skills training that encourages emotional, social, and cognitive health in individuals, families, and communities. Through skills coaching, we are teaching young people how to close the gap between current performance and what they are capable of. We are teaching them how to care for themselves as they navigate the challenges of school and life.

I believe encouragement and celebration of the small steps are vital to a person’s growth and development. At the same time, we often need someone to hold us accountable to our goals. I’m here to do both so that you feel supported and challenged to achieve your goals. I take a holistic approach to skills coaching so that my clients become more socially confident, emotionally aware, and academically capable.

My experience in many different settings, including corporations, nonprofit organizations, schools, and private practice, has contributed to my realization that some people have really strong cognitive skills, others emotional skills or social skills, but few have all. We aim to create a place where people can develop their emotional, social, and executive functioning skills to create a well integrated mind and life.

Across my career, I've worn many hats, traveling domestically and internationally to work with non-profits and social service organizations. As Whole Mind's Branding and Marketing Director, I have the unique opportunity to blend my many passions and skills. Each day presents a new creative challenge to improve our business. My goal for Whole Mind is to make our services transparent, accessible, and research-informed.
